Editorial vs Fine Art
Editorial food photography is meant to look appetizing. This type of photography is generally found in magazines and sometimes advertisements. Whereas, fine art food photography is more expressive of the artist. It is less structured and has more freedom. The aim in fine art photography is to produce a more personal and artistic depiction of the subject.
Food Photography Lesson by Carrie Minns
On Wednesday, November 12th, Carrie Minns gave our class a presentation on how to properly photograph food. I learned that natural light is the best for capturing specific color tones. While artificial light will drastically effect your image. I also learned how to incorporate different props that compliment our food. Another strategy that Carrie taught us was using hands in our photos to make it more natural and inviting.
